'Au i ke kai me he manu ala’ is a native Hawaiian expression for "Cross the sea like a bird" – to sail across the sea, and is reminiscent of my time spent on the island of Kauai, looking south-west across the pacific towards Australia. It’s multi-layered with varying opacities of ink and acrylic, and paint skins, where I’ve utilised the fluidic nature of paint-pours to mimic Nature.
